Biltong-Style Braaied Steak Rolls

Smokey. Savoury. Satisfying. This roll is everything you didn’t know you needed.

Servings: 4 people

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Large Steak
  • 6 tbsp iV’s Gourmet Biltong Style Marinade
  • Hotdog rolls or soft buns
  • 4 iV’s Gourmet Biltong Style Mayo
  • 1 cup Fresh rocket or other garnish

Method
 

  1. Marinate: Rub the steak with iV's Gourmet Biltong Style Marinade, making sure it’s well coated. Cover and marinate in the fridge for at least 2 hours (or overnight for deeper flavour).
  2. Braai Time: Braai the steak over medium-high heat for 4 minutes per side (adjust depending on thickness).
  3. Let it rest for 1 minute, then return it to the braai for another ~1 minute per side for a beautiful crust.
  4. Remove from the heat and rest again before slicing thinly.
  5. Build the Rolls: Toast the rolls slightly if you like.
  6. Spread a generous layer of Biltong Style Mayo on one side.
  7. Add sliced steak to the other side.
  8. Top with fresh rocket or other gourmet garnish
  9. Serve warm with chips, coleslaw or a simple side salad.
